Sunday Morning Museum Party

Say you're looking for something to do on a Sunday afternoon? You'd love to visit a museum, but that requires getting off the couch, bathing, a long drive, and an admission fee.

Fear not, my intrepid museum wanna be visitors. From the comfort of your home, you can visit multiple museums by heading into the Museum of Online Museums. No tickets, no travel, and you can become enlightened while wearing nothing.

The museum features a compilation of online museums, many quite fascinating.

For instance, when your parents call and beg you to come visit, let them know you're going to the Museum of Early LCD Watches and later, you'll be stopping by the Cereal Character Premium Museum.

If you wish to take a serious turn and impress friends and co-workers, let them know you visited the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art and the Museum of Modern Design in Zurich in the same afternoon. I'll bet you can hear the oooh's and aaah's as you spin tales of exhibitions you viewed.

With so many choices, how many museums can you cram into your Sunday?

Two More For The Laff Fest

As promised, two more videos for the Friday Laff Fest.

This first video is infantile, puerile, bathroom humor. Of course, it's a Japanese game show.

The final video isn't funny, but it's remarkable in a twisted kind of way. The video features a bicyclist who escapes a high speed police pursuit.

Gather Round: It's Friday Laff Fest Time

Good morning CTCN readers; it's Friday Laff Fest time.

A couple days ago, a story appeared about a Minnesota man who delved into bear pugilism and survived. This video shows what happens when a bear and a man fight for a fish.

Most people are aware of the Faces of Death video series, but you may not be aware of the Muppet Faces of Death.

Here's a holiday warm up. The Peanuts gang doing Outkast's Hey Ya.

Check back later today, there'll be more video antics.

Healing Your Wounds With Maggot Juice

Next time you have a wound which just seem to be healing, it's time to belly up and break out the maggot juice.

According to New Scientist Tech, researchers in the UK have found that maggot enzymes heal dead tissue. Apparently, the little buggers don't feed on live tissue and their juice heals wounds fast. The applications here could be enourmous. A little re-branding and voila! Maggot millions.

Does this mean we'll soon have Maggot On: Apply Directly to Your Wound?

Maggot On: Apply Directly to Your Wound.

MaggotOn: Apply Directly To Your Wound.

In stores now, Maggot On: Apply Directly to Your Wound.

Thank Gawd It's Friday Laff Fest

Welcome to the newest Friday Laff Fest installment.

The first video, "Little Superstar", features a pint sized dance maniac who's entertaining dad and his brothers.

Video #2, "Humans, The Stupidest Species On Earth", features a compilation of video moments that will have you scratching your head about the human species.

Along the same lines of the previous video, watch this gent get scammed by smooth as silk slickster.

Last, but not least, Stephen Colbert interviews Congressional candidate, Carol Gay, from the New Jersey 4th district.

Welcome To The Friday Laff Fest

First up for the Friday Laff Fest, the strange Japanese game show clip filmed in a library. This game gets progressively funnier as the punishments get weirder.

This truck stunt clip, while not funny, rates high on the moron-o-meter.

If you've never seen the Pee Wee Herman crack cocaine public service announcement, you have to ask yourself, what we're they thinking. What, wasn't Bozo the Clown or Kermit the Frog available?

Max Headroom & Andy Kaufman

Tonight, I've decided to warm up for the CTCN Friday Laff Fest by posting a couple classic comedic characters.

First up: Max Headroom. I loved watching Max before he became a prime time television show because the humor was cutting edge. Watch for yourself.

The other video features Andy Kaufman, a sorely missed comedian who pushed the boundaries of comedy.

If you're going to steal a lawnmower, don't steal it from the cop who pulled you over for a traffic violation.

After you finish, check out this video. These two guys who pick the wrong guy to rob.

Want To Be Liked?

Have you ever wanted more people to like you? Not like you like you, but be the kind of person that others like to hang around and take to a sushi bar?

Then, you should read and practice the Five Tips To Increase Your Likeability. After you've finished, come back here and read CTCN's Five More Tips To Increase Your Likeability:

#6 Dress as though you're a D-list celebrity. People fawn over celebrity even if it is faux celebrity. Name drop. Spew exotic sounding celebrity type names to make yourself look hip and trendy, "You'll never believe who was in the same room with me. ____from that huge English band, the _____. They're fantastic. Have you heard their new hit?" Of course, they haven't and they'll look to you for hip leadership.

#7 Randomly hand out twenty dollar bills to people you don't know. Let them know that "there's more of where that came from". Soon, you'll have gaggles of people who'll follow you like puppies.

#8 Set up your own blog. Put pictures of yourself all over it. Write uplifting and witty information about yourself. Make sure plenty of people link to your site. Manufacture popularity. Be controversial.

#9 Have your picture taken and make sure you partially expose your genitalia. Post in on your blog and all over the web. Worked for Paris Hilton, didn't it?

#10 Legally change your name. Pick out something like Madonna Hilton, Brangelina, or Filliam H. Muffman.

Top 10 Ugliest Fashion Trends

Never having been a fashion maven (wife says my clothes are designed by SLOB Inc.), it was with great interest that I perused the top 10 ugliest, most embarrassing fashion trends of the past 25 years.

As I ran down the list, I wondered how guilty I was of these fashion infractions.

I nodded in agreement with number 10, shoulder pads, because I played football.

A yes on number 9 and ill fitting hats. My head's so damn big that hats never fit.

No on #8 although I have enough hair that I wouldn't require leg warmers.

No on # 7, #6, #5, #4, and #3

I have had clothes fall down around my hips so I'd have to say yes on #2. Every fat man is guilty of this.

Definitely no on #1

By the way...you can buy that snazzy outfit in the picture by visiting I Can Only Imagine in Roscoe Village.

Friday Laff Fest

Our first clip comes from Michael Moore's program, "The Awful Truth". Moore takes on the notorious gay hater, the Reverend Fred Phelps, with hilarious results. This clip clocks in a little over 7 minutes. Enjoy.

In this animated clip, comedian Dane Cook waxes nostalgic over the Kool Aid guy.

Here's a hilarious beeper commercial featuring a couple of sumo wrestlers.

Space Baggies Stall Space Shuttle

The space shuttle "UFO" mystery seems to be solved. While the NASA boys fretted about the shuttle tiles, it was finally determined that space litter seems to be the unknown flying object. Plastic bags floating in outer space.

The question remains: how did the space litter get there? I'm certain the ecology types are writing press releases, and howling about the polluting of outer space. I have a couple theories about how the space baggies ended up in space.

  • The shuttle crew, well aware of crappy NASA space swill, packed a few extra sandwiches into their flight suits. Not wanting to get caught smuggling peanut butter and jelly contraband, they simply let the bags slip into outer space while they were working outdoors on shuttle repairs. Also, I'd wager once NASA upper management confronted the fly boys, they shook their heads "no" and blamed it on the Russians.
  • The baggies prove, once and for all, that alien beings from other planets exist. An alien couple flew up, spread out a space blanket, and had an alien picnic/love fest while they pined away in the Earth's positive glow. When the alien's finished, they got up, flew away, and left behind their garbage. It's rumored that one of the bags resembled a coney island whitefish.
  • The "Love Boat In Space" had been filming in the area and when the garbage hold filled up, Captain Stubing gave the order to flush.

Teacher's Win Germiest Job Award

I never would have guessed it, but teacher's have the dirtiest jobs, and I'm not referring to Debra LaFave.

Although, when you consider that they interact with germ infested, booger eating, dirty handed kids all day, it's easy to understand why teachers are under a constant bacteria barrage. I suppose at the first sign of a bird flu outbreak, teachers will have to dress like Homer Simpson at the nuclear plant.

#8 on the list, publicist, certainly confused me. I didn't think the list factored in morals and lack of truth telling.

One more thing. As I perused the list, I didn't see drive up window worker. Talk about a germy profession. I sure wouldn't want to take change from a butt scratching, snot wiping on the hand contractor type who just had his hand down a porta-john because he saw something shiny.

Do You Live In A Cube Farm, Alpha Geek?

Have you ever found yourself working with a stress puppy?

Have you ever been guilty of abusing the Xerox subsidy? While you were abusing the Xerox subsidy, did you consider your activities might get you uninstalled?

Occasionally, my wife accuses me of infidelity with the square headed spouse.

Confused? Welcome to wild world of office slang.

Friday Laff Fest, Part 2

Back to the Laff Fest. As promised, here are a couple more videos.

Lowered Expectations and another commercial that warns you should be careful with those overhead conversations.

Friday Laff Fest, Part I

Good morning to all you crazy cats and cool kitties in Coshocton land. It's time for another installment of the ever popular Friday Laff Fest.

Our first submission was recommended by CTCN reader, JIB, and it's the Terminator who travels through the time/space continuum to protect none other than Jesus.

Next up: another of Jimmy Kimmel's unnecessary censorship bits.

Installment #3 comes from the Conan O'Brien show. It's a mind blower when Dolly Parton gets double dog dared to take off her clothes. Wow.

Check back later today for part 2 of the Friday Laff Fest.

Wrap That Rascal

Occasionally, I see a commercial which makes me laugh and I have to make a choice. Do I or don't I post it?

Normally, I don't post commercials because we see thousands of advertising images weekly and who needs another? But, in this case, I can't resist. Here's a Zazoo condom commercial which leaves you thinking.

Coshocton Man Mistaken For Aviator

September 1911--Coshocton resident Glenn Boyd had a high time in Canton when numerous people mistook him for noted aviator Harry Atwood.

Boyd, who resembled Atwood, signed autographs and spun tall tales of his aviation exploits. The Canton News wrote a two column story about Boyd's antics and told of his prank, "Many people met Harry N. Atwood, the "aerial hobo," Tuesday night, complimented him on his flight and asked him many questions, secured his autograph, and the promise of pictures, and then later discovered they had been bilked, for it was Glenn Boyd of Coshocton who entertained them with stories of his flights which he had never made."

Friday Laff Fest

Let the Friday Laff Fest begin, albeit, somewhat tardy.

Video #1 catched this Florida weatherman in a total freak out. Is it due to an impending hurricane? Or could it be la cucaracha?

Video #2: If the roaches don't get you, well, the mice will.

Video #3: Here's how Braveheart should have ended.

While this video is not particularly humorous, it is entertaining. Keep telling yourself, "Chemistry class was never like this".

For my final video post, I leave you with a couple Reverend Horton Heat videos. The Rev will be at the Black Swamp Arts Festival, tonight, free, in Bowling Green, OH.
