July 1911--Lenhard Probst filed for divorce in probate court because his wife refused to mend his socks or wash his clothes. Also, in his petition, Probst claimed his wife hadn't spoken with him for three years, other than to abuse him with insulting and vulgar language. The couple had been 30 years and had no children.
In a response, Mrs. Probst was quoted, "#*!! him. The lazy *&@$*&! can wash his own *&%$#@! clothes."--ed.
