Drunk "Black Jacks" Minister

September 1903--Coshoctonites who were in attendance of a Birds Run camp meeting watched in horror as the minister was assaulted by a drunken man.

Apparently, the drunk continually disrupted the minister's meeting, and on the fourth occasion, the minister escorted the man from the premises. Once outside, the drunk pulled a black jack and cracked the preacher on top of the head. Other men surrounded the drunk and sent him on his way.

The minister, who said he pitied the man, declined to press charges.
