A study shows that women do talk more, 13,000 more words per day, than men.
Researchers note that talking releases chemicals into the brain which give women a rush similar to a heroin high.
Also, the researcher maintains, that while in womb, male brain development is pared back in the areas responsible for communication, memory, and emotion.

Why War Fails
I've oft maintained that if Americans knew historical truths, and not the text book mythologized versions taught in schools, our country would be a better place. Certainly, politicians wouldn't be able to conjure up past ghosts for rhetorical purposes.
For eye opening history, read The People's History of the United States by Howard Zinn. You can read excerpts here and here. Better yet, order a copy through your local library or bookstore and you'll gain insight into many of today's societal ills.
Which leads me to this recent article by Zinn, Why War Fails. He brings historical perspective to the Iraq failure and reminds us that these war moves have been pulled time and again. Like bullheaded, ignorant children, politicians continue putting our hand on a hot stove. We get burned and our children die. The politician playbook doesn't change, it's passed from generation to generation.
Here's another recent article, The Disneyfication of War Allows Us to Ignore Its Real Savagery, written by George Monbiot, shows us how war has been trivialized into entertainment.
Mommy, I'm Stuck
I wouldn't have believed this one if I hadn't seen the picture.
A three year old explorer ended up trapped inside a vending machine.
On the hunt for a stuffed Sponge Bob Squarepants, the three year old's crane skills weren't sufficient to capture ol' square britches. Deciding that he couldn't live without the giggly one, our intrepid hunter squirmed into the machine.
Realizing his predicament, he did what all kids would do. He played with the stuffed toys before calling for mommy. I'm sure her jaw must have scraped the floor after seeing her kid trapped, Dudley style, behind glass.
Unanswered questions remain. Why didn't the mom use a roll of quarters and use the crane to retrieve her kid? Once the kid escaped the glass house, did anyone give him the Sponge Bob?

Where Did The Katrina Foreign Aid Go?
Whenever a disaster happens elsewhere in the world, there seems to be a certain percentage of people who declare, "why should I give another country money, what do they do for us?"
The Katrina disaster brought hundreds of millions in aid from other nations.
What? You didn't hear about that?
Did you hear about where the money went? Me, either. Foreign Policy has answers. Read on, Garth.
