Three Year Old Tangled In Wagon Spokes

August 1911--According to the Coshocton Daily Age, three year old Adrian Carroll jumped from a moving buggy and became entangled in the front wheel spokes. Attended to by Dr. Pomerene, the boy's left leg was broken between the hip and knee. Also, he received heavy bruising on his knee, back, and hip.

The child became excited when another young boy attempted to hop aboard the moving buggy. Not jumping far enough, he became entangled and was dragged by the buggy. Fortunately, he stayed clear which kept him from being mangled to death. It took several minutes to remove the boys leg from the wagon spokes.
