In 1899, the Democratic Standard wrote this small story:
"During the past week the Board of Trade has had under advisement a proposition from a company that desires to establish an automobile factory in Coshocton. The company wants about three acres of land and a bonus of $15,000, the ground donated to be adjacent to a railroad. Upon this ground the company proposes to erect a building 40 x 200 feet, together with forge and brazing shops, etc. It is guaranteed that the works will give employment to sixty five men at the start, seventy five percent of the labor coming under the head(ing) of skilled with wages ranging from $2 to $3.50 per day."
I guess the deal never worked out, huh?

I thought a motor car WAS built here in Coshocton. Not true?
Yes, there was a motor car built here, but I've never found existence of a factory.
Do you know something I don't?
