June 1900--Mrs. Tafe, a Coshocton resident who lived on Poplar St., made a gallon of ice cream and left it on the back porch near her freezer. Later in the evening, when she returned to the porch, she found her ice cream freezer and said contents had been snatched. The next morning, Mrs. Tafe's ice cream freezer was returned to her yard minus the ice cream. The unsolved crime, attributed to young ice cream hoodlums, made the paper's front page.
