1902--Margaret Harvey, a Crawford store salesperson, headed home after a hard work day. As she left the store and walked up North Fourth St., she noticed a barefoot boy following her.
She thought nothing of the innocent looking youth until he sprinted toward her and attempted to snatch her purse. Margaret held tight and pulled the boy close in an attempt to identify the lad. Once the boy realized he wouldn't succeed and would get identified, he sprinted off into the darkness with barefeet slapping on the brick.
