Coshocton Girl Sues Man
For Broken Engagement

October 1911--Minnie Diebel seemed to be a woman who didn't take things lying down.

After a four year engagement, her fiance Lewis Young decided to marry another woman and the jilted Diebel filed a $5,000 suit in a common pleas court. She claimed that Young had breached his marriage promise thereby subjecting her to great distress of mind and impaired health.
