1912--A local man, while waiting for his soon-to-be-bride's arrival, put a shotgun to his heart and ended his life. The couple had planned to elope in Wheeling, but the man didn't have enough money to cover elopement expenses. Family members said he seemed despondent leading up to the planned arrival of his fiance.
