Threatening Notes Posted In Roscoe

March 1912--Two threatening notes posted on poles in Roscoe Village, re-kindled fears that the Fire Demon may strike again. The notes, written to teacher Clay McConnell, were later suspected to have been written by students. Nonetheless, rumors spread through Coshocton before most people in Roscoe became aware of the notes.

One interesting paragraph appeared in the story. The State Fire Marshall had halted the Roscoe investigation due to the suicide death of Fred Landerman.

Also, the grand jury investigation returned no indictments. Did Fred Landerman's death bring a close to the Roscoe Fire Demon?
