She's A Little Runaway

This tidbit appeared in the Coshocton Rebuplican, 1852:

August 1852--Notice: Ran away from the subscriber, residing in White-Eyes Township, Coshocton County, Ohio, on or about the 3d day of August 1852, Margarette Jane Statts, aged 16 years, and an indentured apprentice. This is therefore to warn all persons not to harbor, or trust her on my account, as I intend to pay no debts of her contracting. William Gaskill.

These are familiar themes which have re-appeared in the current immigration debate.
