Front Page Humor From 1852

Despite all their wood chopping and nation building, never let it be said our forefathers didn't have time to laugh. From the always serious 1852 Coshocton Republican front page:

  • Why are a hundred and sixty square rods like a decayed tooth? Because it's an aker!
  • A silly fop, being in company, and wanting his servant, cried out, "Where is my blockhead?" "Upon your shoulders," cried a lady.
Okay, before you leave a comment, remember, I didn't write those jokes.
