Claims She Had Couple Of Husbands

April 5, 1912--Ooh, the sordid divorce details continue to be spilled forth on the front pages.

John Van Ostram filed for divorce claiming his wife, Rosa, had been a little less than faithful. In fact, he maintained that Rosa had another husband living in Columbus. According to Mr. Van Ostram, his wife disappeared for nine months, returning to Columbus to live with her other husband. Mr. Van Ostram, not happy with this arrangement, wished to divorce and establish a new life.

Although this would still be illegal today, the level of scandalousness probably doesn't compare to what it had in 1912. Today's public would need more sordid details to get them to follow this story.
