March 13, 1912--Despite no progress in the Roscoe arson case, authorities convened a grand jury in an apparent attempt to force the hand of state authorities.
Investigators from the state fire marshall's office had conducted multiple suspect interviews, yet claimed there were no leads. In fact, all investigations, including a door-to-door handwriting gathering, had turned up no solid leads.
How would a grand jury answer the multiple questions surrounding the fire demon?
