
Stewart pinned the slaughter on a unidentified rogue dog due to muddy dog tracks he found throughout the poultry yard and pens. Stewart said the dog attacked between and 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Sunday afternoon. Stewart found many of the award winning chickens suffering from brutal flesh wounds and broken limbs. A number of the birds had to be put to death due to the severity of their injuries.
A number of the birds were valued at $20-25 apiece.
