Sept. 1908--A fight at Markley's Livery on Fifth St. involving two youth "assumed serious proportions and for a time threatened to have fatal results".
The fist fight, started over a slight misunderstanding, escalated when the combatants selected a pitchfork and large bottle to continue their battle. The pitchfork wielding youth chased the bottle carrier until said bottle carrier heaved the large glass object narrowly missing his pursuer. When the large bottle crashed to the street, onlookers stepped in and stopped the fight.
