August 1906--A Roscoe Village milkman was arrested for beating a young boy and a cow. Alfred McConnell savagely beat a cow with a club until the cow became blind. The cow was later shot by authorities.
McConnell was fined $10 for beating the boy and $7 for beating the cow.
In other news, Peter Wilden was arrested and fined for using abusive language on his wife. After being released, Wilden returned home to raise a "rough house" and found himself arrested. This time, Wilden was jailed and fined. Appearing before Squire Wimmer, Wilden promised to be good.
