Where Did Coshocton's Cannon Go?

If you read yesterday's post about 1883 4th of July celebration, you may have noticed that the proceedings were interrupted by a cannon blast on the Coshocton County Court House square NW corner.

If you've seen old courthouse pictures, you'll see a cannon. So, where is the cannon now?

In 1942, the cannon was sold to Kenneth Dickerson of Roscoe for $14 per ton. Dickerson, in turn, sold the scrap to Clow who used the melted cannon to further the WWII war effort.
