Roscoe Village's Newest Offering Designed Around You

While visiting the Civil War re-enactment this weekend, I dropped in and visited Sandy Harvey at Designed Around You, 318 N. Whitewoman Street in Roscoe Village.

Sandy carries a wonderful selection of antiques, art, and collectibles. The mix features an eclectic selection of primitives, vintage items, local artwork, Amish quilts and baskets.

In addition to her product mix, Sandy offers her creativity and knowledge on how to transform old items into new uses for her client's homes. Sandy's design knowledge has been developed over the years as a design manager for Lazarus Department Stores and as a creative design manager for the Longaberger Company.

Because Sandy constantly seeks new items during her buying trips, she offers a "wish list" for her clients. The list accompanies Sandy on buying trips and when she locates a piece that fits her client's needs and budget, she makes the purchase.

Her goal is to have someone ask a client, "Where did you find that?" with the client's reply being, "At Designed Around You...isn't it great!" I'm certain with Sandy's flair and expertise, she'll hear the comment often.

Designed Around You is open Tuesday-Friday, 10 a.m.-4 p.m., Saturday 9 a.m.- 5 p.m., and Sunday Noon- 4 p.m.
