July 1908--Five days ago, CTCN posted a story about John James, a young Coshocton man, who survived underwater for four minutes and nearly drowned.Three days after James' near fatal accident, he died due to the paralysis, in conjuntion with a pneumonia. The paralysis which mysteriously caused his near drowning was not attributed to any specific cause. According to the Coshocton Age, doctors surmised a blow to the head while diving may have created the paralysis although there were no visible marks on James. Another theory was that a twisting motion may have damaged James' spinal cord causing the paralysis. No one will ever know how John James became paralyzed after jumping into Dead Man's Hole.
