June 1906--According to the Coshocton Daily Age, two prominent Roscoe Village women, Mrs. George Clark and Mrs. Grant Howe, decided to defend their honor on Main St.
Apparently, Mrs. Clark confronted her counterpart over supposedly uttered disparaging remarks. As the conversation grew louder, the women took to pugilism to settle their disagreement. While there was much hair pulling and scratching, onlookers seemingly enjoyed the battle without disruption. Mrs. Howe was deemed the loser, and no charges were filed against either combatants.
