June 1911--They, the J.W. Cassingham family, left their home for only a minute.
In that small window of time, their home was visited by a well dressed man who relieved the Cassingham's of $400 worth of jewelry. According to the Daily Tribune, the well dressed man emerged from the home, sat on the porch, calmly fanned himself for a few minutes, and disappeared into the summer day.
Contrary to popular opinion, it's been determined the well dressed man did not re-appear years later as Dr. Richard Kimble's one armed man.
