May 1900-- Two boys snagged a 23 pound fish in the Tuscarawas River only to have the beast break free. Further upstream, the fish, with fork in place, became ensnared in shallow water near the Tuscarawas bridge and was discovered by H.B. Smith. Mr. Smith waded in and brought the fish ashore. Later, he discovered whose fork lay in the fish and returned the fish to the boys.
