April 1912--Mayor Cassingham fined two local women $15 each and sentenced them to serve ten days at the Canton work house for using "profane and obscene language".
Apparently, the women engaged in a rather nasty tongue lashing. The profanity laced quarrels had raged for weeks. The final quarrel, witnessed by Patrolman Laird, culminated in both women's arrest and free vacation sponsored by Mayor Cassingham.
