Bill Haley and the Comets recorded "Rock Around The Clock" on this date in 1954. Numerous fans point to this song as the beginning of rock and roll while those-in-the-know daddy-o can trace the first rock and roll songs back to late 1940's.
"Rock Around The Clock" was essentially a re-make of Haley's 1952 recording of the old blues tune, "Rock This Joint" and even that pre-dates Elvis Presley.
Long live the moon face who wore a far out spit curl.
