I'll never forget when the Park Hotel burned in 2005. The community turned out for days to watch the last gasp of an already dead building. Memories floated like the ash which covered Coshocton.
Now, Coshoctononians agonize over hotel's slow removal. Recent progress has again slowed to a crawl and many have been left wondering about the return of normalcy to Main Street.
Some Coshocton lifers remember when the Park Hotel burned in November of 1946. The gutted hotel incurred a $250,000 dollar loss. According to the Coshocton Tribune, no residents or guests were hurt and the fire department performed admirably in extinguishing the blaze.
One odd coincidence: both blazes started in the hotel's basement.

You love Muff-mo the Bimbo Queen!
How long did it take to resurrect the Park Hotel after the 1946 fire ? Not that I expect resurrection this time.
I'm not certain about the 1946 resurrection, but I'll have my research staff make inquiries with well placed, powerful individuals in-the-know.
