Feb. 24, 1912--"There seems to be one of these so called "mashers" hovering about in the city trying to force his attention upon young women and girls.
The "masher" hid behind the columns of Commercial Bank on 4th St. He stepped out of the darkness and asked to escort a young (teenage) woman home. Her "no" didn't deter the man and he asked for a date the next night. His persistence did not pay, but instead, put local authorities on the street looking to arrest the "masher".
