Then: Strikette At Local Candy Shop

Feb. 19, 1912--When one pictures a workplace strike, thoughts of a large corporation battling a large union springs to mind.

Not so in 1912 Coshocton, when battle lines were drawn in chocolate. Three employees of Pentels candy shop, walked out and declared a strike. Unhappy with working conditions, they vowed never to return. It's amazing what a little thing like unpaid wages will do to an employees attitude.

Coshocton children wept. Dentists rejoiced.
